Tristan Weglarz '21 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

My name is Tristan Weglarz.  

I currently stand 6'-4" and weigh 185 lbs. I’m a class of 2021  QB and DB/Safety at Peotone, IL.   

In 2019 I had the  privilege to be part of the 8A IHSA State Champs!   For my Sr Year my goal is to lead our Peotone Blue Devils to a State Title.

As a Jr QB, I had opportunity to help my Lincoln Way East team prepare by running the scout team all season-for the best defense in the state!  We shut out Warren 12-0 in the championship. I was the starting QB for all of our JV games  (Loyola, West Aurora, Lockport) and had playing time in multiple regular season games as well as our playoff game vs Niles Notre Dame.

I was the week 5 and week 6 "LWE Player of the Week" and was awarded the “Practice Player of the Year” at our award ceremony.

I have been a 3-sport athlete (Football, Baseball, and Basketball) for most of my life, but have decided this year to focus on football and winning another State Championship! Playing these other sports assisted in my athleticism for speed and agility, hand/eye coordination, and even pitching helped me with my composure on the field.  I stay focused and calm and am very mobile in the pocket.  I have worked on developing my quick release, and have  been studying game film and work on my reads with my coaches. 

My goal is to put on lean mass before my Sr. season so I am working hard in the off season in the weight room.  I also train with Coach Jeff Christensen and Coach Preston Earl @  Throw it Deep Academy, as I have been training with them since 6th grade. 

I have posted the game film I currently have, you will see that I can make reads, hit the slants, outs, and fades, etc.  I can move in the pocket, or keep it myself. 

I am currently preparing for my ACT/SATs, I maintain a 3.4 GPA with multiple AP classes.
