My name is Chris Gore and I am starting my Senior year at Plainfield Central High School and will be playing Varsity outside linebacker, special teams and H-Back this fall. I have been playing competitive sports since I was 6 years old. Football has always been my favorite sport and I am very passionate and dedicated to being the best player I can be. My dream is to play football in college while getting a great education. I am currently training 6-7 days a week: 6 days with my team and then I'm either lifting at my gym or training at Acceleration Sports Performance in Naperville doing speed, plyometrics & power classes or working with my Defensive Backs coach, Coach MJ. I attending a variety of college Senior Day visits/camps/combines this summer to not only learn from some awesome Coaches but to improve my chances of going to the next level. I have been very fortunate to have gotten the interest of numerous college football programs through my hard work and "coachability." I attended FBU Chicago and based on my performance I was invited to participate at FBU Top Gun. I also attended a NUCS combine and was invited to participate in their Ultimate 100 Top Prospect Elite Camp as well as, the All American North & South Game and their 5 Star Football Camp. I recently was invited to participate in the 2017 BLUE-GREY ALL-AMERICAN COMBINES.
I started playing football when I was 6 years old with the Plainfield Prowlers. When I was playing with the Prowlers I was starting linebacker and fullback. During my Junior Midget season my team and I were undefeated and went to the UYFL National Championships in Florida. I also received the Chicago Rush Ironman Award from my Coaches for dedication, hard-work, sportsmanship, leadership, and on & off field performance. In 2013 I attended O-D Football Camp and received the Player of the Week Award and was invited to play in the All-American Bowl at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, FL. I have now been playing high school football for 3 years Plainfield Central High School. I am starting outside linebacker & backup middle linebacker on defense and will be backup fullback/h-back on offense. I am also on special teams. I was starting linebacker on my sophomore & Varsity team, as well as, Defensive Captain. I am now a Team Leader for my football team's off-season conditioning and was a team mentor last season, hopefully again this coming season.
Grades and academics have always been a priority for me. I have been on the Honor Roll or High Honor Roll and in honors math since 5th grade. Throughout middle school and high school I have had all A's with a few B's. I currently have a 4.7 out of 5.0 GPA. I am very proud of everything I have done in school and will continue to work hard. I was recently accepted in the National Honor Society, which is a huge recognition and honor.
I am volunteering with my old football program, Plainfield Prowlers, helping at their summer conditioning camps, during the season at practices and on the sidelines at games. I will also be helping at my team's youth football camps over the summer. I enjoy working with the younger players and showing them how to do drills and techniques. I have volunteered with my brother's hockey team to help out at MorningStar Mission and donated to their annual Toys for Tots event. This past winter I participated in Wreaths Across America and helped place wreaths on gravesites at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Cemetery.
