Why football? Because it has always been in my blood. Having a father who played at the collegiate level and is now my high school coach, football has been a part of my life from the start. I am incredibly competitive, and football has always been a way to express that. I strive to be the best at everything I do on the field, court, or classroom.
I have always dreamed of playing Division I football, but at some point, I must take it into my own hands and make it a reality. In order to make this dream a reality, I must always be the hardest working, the most coachable kid in everything I do. Working hard has become second nature to me. This has allowed me to become bigger, faster, and stronger with the time I get in the weight room.
As a freshman starting on the Varsity football field comes with various sets of barriers. I am not the biggest, fastest, or strongest, but for me to have the success I did on the field, anticipation and preparation became my way of life. Preparation for the game allowed me to pick up tendencies and keys on opposing players before the play began. Being able to anticipate the play before it happens is how, as a first-year player, I was able to survive and strive on a senior-driven defense.
With my team being very senior-led, being a leader does not seem to be the newcomer's job. As a natural-born leader, I could contribute substantially to the success of the team. The various leadership committees and councils of which I am a part prepared me for this opportunity and allowed me to prosper when I was faced with those challenges.
I plan to attend a college that will push me to become the best player, student, and version of myself I possibly can be. My endeavors align for me to play at the highest level of competition and succeed at that level as well.
