Hello, I am Phillip McFatridge. Currently I am in the 8th grade, focused on my academic success and improving my football skills year-around. I started playing football in California when I was 8 years old. My family moved to North Central Indiana in 2021.
I am a three-sport athlete, but my passion is playing football. I have been fortunate to work with highly skilled speed and agility trainers since I was 6 years old. In 2022, I began weight training at the high school gym. For the past two years, I have played 7 V 7 football for a travel team out of Lafayette, Indiana during winter and spring.
I have been a starter on offense, defense and special teams on my junior high football teams the past two years. I was also the kicker. For the 2023 season, I was asked to change offensive and defensive positions in order to utilize my athleticism for the benefit of the team. I was switched from wing back to the quarterback position in order to add a run/pass option to our offense. On defense, I was moved from safety to the middle linebacker position to maximize use of my speed and strength.
I am a very coachable player, a team leader, and dedicated to becoming the best I can be, academically and athletically. I always show appreciation for the contributions of my teammates and celebrate their successes. I value teamwork, character, commitment and leadership.
My goal is to attend a school that is a good fit academically, and athletically. It is important that I select the school that will position me to be successful in my career after receiving my degree.
