Personal Statement
Moving halfway across the country eight years ago has probably had the biggest impact on my life so far. Because of my dad’s job, we moved from Northeastern Pennsylvania to Southeastern Indiana, where we knew no one. I had to completely start over with making new friends, and I was extremely shy at the time. Over the past eight years, I’ve changed from the quiet new kid to the outgoing leader of my group. I’ve excelled in both academics and athletics, making the honor roll every quarter and earning a varsity letter in both my sports as a freshman.
I carry this determination and perseverance onto the playing field as well. Obstacles do not discourage me; in fact, they just make me push myself harder. I show up to every practice striving to get better and better. Because of this, I feel like I would be an asset to any college lucky enough to have me.
