I am a Senior at the age of 18 and I live on a farm in northeast Iowa. This Friday, November 22, I will be playing for a State Championship. I have had a tremendous Senior season rushing for 1553 yards on 141 carries with an 11.0 yards/carry average and gaining over 511 yards receiving on 29 receptions. I have 35 total touchdowns on the year. I have really stepped up as a Senior and team leader in the playoffs as in the first four postseason games alone I have rushed for 682 yards on 65 carries, 481 receiving yards on 13 receptions, and 14 total touchdowns. These performances have allowed my team to compete for a State Championship for the first time in school history. I come to play. I go beyond what is expected in preparing and executing. I do not settle for anything less than my best ,and I believe it shows in how I play the game.
I have started on Varsity both ways at RB and OLB since my Sophomore year. I received First Team All-District honors previous years, and Third Team All-State my junior year. I have achieved many goals in high school but, I also have the goal of playing collegiate football. Having had two older brothers play college football I am very passionate about going to play and play at the school that fits me best. I want to find the school that fits me competitively as a player and academically as a student. Also, the character, morals, and environment of the school and football program are extremely important to me. I realize that although football is a huge factor on where I will go, where I go will also affect what I want to do with the rest of my life and helping me achieve my life ambitions beyond football.
I would love to play Division One football, and I want to compete at the highest level I can. I know that I have some very good God-given abilities that make me capable of playing Division One football, but many people do too. What I think separates myself from others is my character. I have very good leadership skills as it has shown being named a Team Captain both my Junior and Senior years. I am always helping my teammates and taking responsibility for myself and others. I have a very strong work ethic, never settling for good but pushing myself to be the best. I have the passion for the game and I strive to become better and better all the time. Off the field, I am a very good student with a 3.96 GPA; and I am a quiet, polite, kind person. On the field and off the field I strive to always showcase the Christ-like character that dwells within me and being a mature role model that this world needs.
