Personal Statement

I am a junior from Lansing, Kansas and I am looking to take my athletic career to the next level and play college football when I graduate in 2012. I'm 5'10" at 180 pounds and run a 4.40 forty and a 3.97 shuttle (confirmed at the Kansas State University 2010 Football Camp). For my junior season, I was selected as the All Kaw Valley League 2010 Defensive Back (Honorable Mention) and the All Leavenworth County 2010 Defensive Back (Honorable Mention). I have been twice selected as the Offensive Player MVP at the Offense-Defense Football Camp (Kansas City 2007 and 2008 respectively) and selected as the overall Camp MVP at the Offense-Defense Football Camp (Kansas City 2009). All of which resulted in two consecutive invitations to the Offense-Defense Invitational Elite Camp (Myrtle Beach, SC 2009 and 2010). I have lettered in Varsity Football since my sophomore year. I am a very focused, hard working, and determined young man (both on and off the field). I have been elected as my class Football Team Captain for three years running and I lead by example and am a team player. I am very proficient and well prepared in the following four critical areas of a successful Football Player. First and foremost, I am a "student of the game" (I study and focus on every aspect of the game from preparation through execution). Secondly, I am a "physical player" (I am the best physically prepared I can be and devote myself to year round weight training and speed and agility programs). Thirdly, I am an "expert in my assigned offensive and defensive positions" (I devote my summers to attending the best Football Camps available to hone and expand my position related skills). Lastly, I am a "team motivator and catalyst for success" (I help the Coaches get the very best performance out of every player on our team - especially during games). Overall, I am the type of player that makes a difference for the team. Further, I am an extremely responsible honors student and I believe that I am ready to become a successful member of any College Football Team that will have me. I'm interested in becoming a Veterinarian Doctor and am looking for colleges with a solid Pre-Vet program. I'd prefer attending a college or university in the mid west (in or near Kansas), but I'd also be willing to travel much farther if necessary. I'd prefer the mid west region because I'd like my family to be able to come and see me play football. Ideally, I'd like to attend a DI school, but I'm abbsolutlely open to DII and smaller schools that offer my intended major. Ideally, I'd like play my freshman year, but I am realistic and know I would have to work very hard to earn a starting or playing position. So, if you're looking for a hardworking running back or defensive back with speed and brains, well then I'm your man.
