Personal Statement
My goal is to be a student athlete to become a productive citizen in society thru education and brotherhood. What makes a great candidate for any team is my ability to lead by example and understand what you put into life is what you get out of life. I do not believe in quitting, I believe if you start something you should always finish it with maximum effort, even if you are not good at it. What makes me different from other athletes is the fact that I have taken my talents for granted and thinking I was better than my opponent and loss to that opponent. At that point, I experienced disappointment and loss, I was so angry with myself I went in a corner and cried. If I would have beaten my opponent I would have won the state meet, however the loss had me tied and I had to go up against a guy that over the season we always battled to the bitter end. As we begin the final match we went back in forth with the scoring and we both were exhausted but I was able to overcome my exhaustion and win the match. It was that day that I learned with preparation, determination and effort that I can accomplish anything I put my mind too. Academically, I am not exactly where I want to be but I am taking all the necessary steps to get there such as tutoring and focusing more in classes and have been seeing steady progress because of it. https://twitter.com/seancharles2003
