Cailun Griggs '21 Recruiting Profile

I was introduced to football at the age of 7 by a neighbor who played for a local youth league in Texas.  My parents signed me up for the next season and I was hooked after my first practice.  I played for 4 years with this youth league at various positions including center, nose guard, linebacker, and full back.  During this time, I was also introduced to youth league tackle Rugby. I played for 3 years as a winger and half back.

When I started playing football in school at the junior high level, I decided to try out for quarterback and have been in that position ever sense.  I also get reps on defense as safety or corner every chance that I get. I moved from Texas to Louisiana my 8^th grade year.  I grew a great deal that year learning a new system and working on gaining the respect of teammates who did not know me. I also run track in the off-season and my events include the 200 meter, 4 x 100 meter relay and 4 x 400 meter relay.

I see football as always being a part of my future and plan on gearing my major in college to allow me to do this.  I am looking for a school and program that will allow me to obtain my academic goals and be a good fit for me athletically.  A program that will allow me to grow and will benefit for having me as not only a part of their team, but as a leader on their team
