Personal Statement
Hi my name is Zach Cyr. I am currently a junior at Burlington High School. I am the running back, outside linebacker and play all special teams on varsity. Football is my second love, as family is my first. I have been passionate about playing football since I was 7 when I started playing, and have played numerous positions as needed to help out my team, but mainly focus on running back and linebacker. I was awarded the MIAA Award of Excellence (Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association – Outstanding leadership, sportsmanship, integrity and athleticism) as a freshman and sophomore. I also play varsity lacrosse and am a gymnast. I was a gymnast at a private gym for 7 years while also playing football, lacrosse and baseball. I placed 4th in the state at our high school gymnastics state meet as a freshman. I was on the Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic Team. Through my years of sports I have learned what it takes to succeed: hard work, sacrifice and dedication. In everything I do I strive to be the best I can be on and off the field. I take several honors classes, train off-season 6 days a week, often doing double sessions. I’m always striving to get to the next level. Knock me down, I’ll get back up.
My dream and goal is to play football at the highest level possible, while also getting a solid education for my future.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me.
