Personal Statement
I started my kicking career the summer of 2018, prior to my sophomore year. A couple of my friends who are on the football team mentioned that they were in need of a kicker and with my 10+ years of soccer experience they thought I would be a good candidate. To begin the year I was the place kicker but about halfway through your season I beat out the junior for the starting field goal kicker position also. One of the most important assets I've learned thought this was skill can come naturally but being the best you have the work the hardest and come out everyday with a positive mind set. At the next level I'm ready to work day in and day out while also succeeding in the classroom. Academic goals for the rest of high school are to finish each semester with a 3.7GPA or higher, finish high school with an accumulative GPA of a 3.5GPA or higher, also thinking ahead to college I’m thinking business will be my major but I am still undetermined at this time.
One of the first obstacles I had to overcome when joining my high school football was that I had to prove to the coaches and players that I deserved the starting kicker job, and that I wouldn't let them down. I overcame that obstacle by staying after practice for extra practice, harder training and taking it one day at a time. As I head into my junior season of high school in the 2019 season I'm set to be the place kicker, punter and field goal kicker for the varsity team. Kicking can become a very mental straining job but after playing 10 years of highly competitive soccer I've played in very high pressure moments so I've become accustomed to it and I don't let affect my play. I believe not only do I have the talent to complete at the highest level I also have the work ethic, character and leadership you're looking for I believe I can make a positive impact on your football program immediately. Thank You for your time and have a great day!
