When I was a kid I have always wanted to be the best and win. So I played soccer, and for 10 years I continued soccer and committed to it until I was given the opportunity to join the Mason High School Football team. Ever since I joined the team I stood out like a sore thumb. I was the female kicker and I didn't belong. I wasn't the fastest, strongest or the best so I had to rely on my heart and the desire I had to be the best I can. Over the past three years, that desire to be better has grown greatly just by trying to be better everyday. My work ethic and goal of going to the collegiate level has really helped me through my challenges I had to face being the only female on the football team but it didn't stop me. Throughout the week, I would analyze my form with recordings of myself, watch youtube videos for extra help, kick for hours until I got it right, and weight lift to get stronger. I have high expectations I want to make happen for myself and the only way to make it happen is with the work ethic I have. In addition, the people in my community have really made my football career an experience to remember. Especially hearing that I can inspire other females to achieve their own goals even if it makes them stand out, it inspires them to do it and I can say it is a great feeling knowing that I can impact someone's life.
