Lucas Nay '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Lucas Nay. I am 17 years old and am currently a Junior at Mason High School in Michigan. I will graduate in the Class of 2024, and I have a strong desire to play varsity soccer while attending college.

I began playing soccer at a very young age. I began playing club soccer at age 8 with Michigan Chill Soccer Club. I have consistently played on the top club team for my age group or year (2005) and have played Super Youth division for many years. I also was the starting goalie and substitute floor player for the 2005 Lansing City Futsal Academy team for three years. I made the Mason High School Varsity Soccer team as a freshman and averaged 30 minutes a game, had two goals and four assists during the 2020 season, and was named All-League Honorable Mention. During my 2021 sophomore season, I had four goals and six assists in 16 games played. I was named All-League, All-District, All-Region, and All-State Honorable Mention. One of only seven total sophomores in the entire state for D2. During the 2022 junior season, I had 13 goals, 7 assists in 23 games played. I was named All-League, All-District, All-Region, All-State Team 2, Top Scorer for the team (Golden Boot Award Winner), and named to Lansing State Journal Dream Team. We also won our school's 22nd District title and 1st in 7 years, which I am especially proud of due to how young our team was.

Since playing soccer, I have played in multiple state, regional and national level tournaments including the Futsal Regional (Akron, OH) and National Championships (Kansas City, MO), Michigan Cup, and the Nike Cup (Schaumburg, IL),Indianapolis College Showcase, & Dayton College Showcase.  I am currently a member of the Nationals Soccer Club here in Michigan and am going into second year playing the Great Lakes Region of NLC for National Union 05 Black.  As a player my greatest strengths are passing, game recognition, and technical ball movement and placement. I continue to push myself to develop and strengthen my skills and knowledge of the game areas such as leadership (both on and off the field), strength, speed and conditioning, and teamwork.

My goal to play soccer in college is also in line with my intention to obtain a college degree. While I am still unsure what my course of study will be in college, I welcome the challenge that being a student-athlete will bring to me both personally and professionally.
