I am a 5'11" defensive back/utility player from Excelsior Springs, Missouri, preparing to begin my senior season. I have been a member of the football team for 3 years, the basketball team for 3 years, the track team for 3, and the baseball team for 1. I have been a varsity starter on my high school football team all 3 years and recently earned 1st team All-Conference DB, 2nd team all conference athlete, 1st team All-District DB, and 3rd team All-State DB; all in class 4A.
I have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 and an ACT score of 21. I plan on taking the ACT several more times this year to improve my score. I have very strong leadership skills and have been a captain on my team for the past two years - I believe this translates directly into value at the collegiate level. Growing up in a small town where football is a very important part of the social scene instills a certain set of values and I understand the importance of being a role model to younger players and try to set as a good example in every way I can. I put a very high level of emphasis on being responsible and dependable and always being on time. I successfully manage a schedule between school, football and two other sports, and work.
I am looking for a school where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the field. I would like to pursue a university with a great academic reputation in the field of science. It would be ideal to find a school with pre-dentistry as I plan to be an orthodontist. I am looking for a university where I would definitely get playing time, but it doesn't necessarily have to be in my first year. I would be fine with red shirting and believe I am capable of playing at the FCS (Division I AA) level or Division II.
