Personal Statement

Growing up in Nebraska, it's nearly every young boy's dream to grow up and be Corn Husker. and play the esteemed University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Naturally, only the best of the best that the state has to offer are given that distinct opportunity, so we grow up competing and training to be the best of the best. However, as we come of maturity, we realize that there is more to life then playing sports, and not everybody can do it for a living. While I have heavy anticipation of playing amongst a college that so desires my developed talents necessary, I realize that I, too, must look for something beyond college sports to support my future life, as well as my future family. The old adage goes, "Do what you love," and I whole-heartedly agree. Until Jr. High, I had no general hobbies of interest that I partook in. That all changed when I was introduced to the weight room. The weight room is a place that I have been able to take solice in, as over the years I have been able to grow and expand my knowledge and wisdom on the art of Strength and Conditioning. I have challenged myself with many different workou programs and styles, and after all that thought process, I have since decided that I will major in Exercise Science, and work with anything else necessary. What it is I will choose to do, I am not yet sure of. I could potentially be a Strength and Conditioning coach, which would fulfill my love of the weight room and allow me to teach other athletes how to break the proverbial "Glass Ceiling" that they all have and aspire to achieve the same long desired dreams I once dreamt. No matter what I end on, however, I do plan to one day open a gym that offers lifting classes, informational classes, and training for young athletes who are confused -much like I once was- about everything sportswise. In the mean time, I plan to continue my aspirations of being a college athlete, and will futher motivate and push myself until I am the best I can ever be, maybe even more. We are all capable of great things, it just a matter of figuring it out.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
