Personal Statement
Work- it means different things to different people. For some, it means simply showing up to practice, for others it means morning workouts and evenings in the tunnel. Regardless of expectations, I have always tried to be hardest worker in the room. The time you put in when no one is looking results in progress and the progress becomes results on the field and those results turn into dreams realized.
In all honesty, softball started as something my parents signed me up for to get me out of the house in the summer. But as the game grew more competitive, my passion grew as well and pitching would quickly became a part of my life. Sports are a mirror of life. It teaches us to push ourselves to become the best version of ourself, to be a teammate working toward a united goal and at times about how to lose; lessons we can take with us beyond the pitcher's circle. Softball has taught me confidence and dedication. It's the challenge of perfecting each pitch, analyzing my mechanics and being a student of the game that keeps me in the gym in the winter and on the dirt all summer.
My goal is to be competing at a high level beyond high school. Beyond athletics, my goal is to become a doctor where I can take what I learned in sports and apply them to help others. Therefore, academics are equally as important as my career on the field. I work as hard in the classroom as I do in softball and I am looking for a school that allows me that opportunity.
I look forward to seeing where my journey takes me. I appreciate you taking the time to review my profile.
