Jayden Joyner '19 Recruiting Profile

I have loved and played tackle football since I was 6 years old.  It is all I ever wanted to do.  After playing 8 years in league ball I still have a passion for the game.  Some of my best memories are the teammates that I have worked with throughout the years.  Our brotherhood and hard work led us to 4 National NYS championships.  With a coach that prepared us for the unexpected, he pushed us to work harder than anyone and did not award mediocrity.  I appreciate his leadership and work ethic to this day.  It showed me that football is a year round dedication. I work hard in season and harder out of season with a conditioning coach.  As with all great rewards, it takes hard work not only on the field but also in a classroom.  Last year, I tested in the top 2% of my class in the state English proficiency exam. I understand that my education is pivotal to my future and do not take that for granted. I am a great asset to a team. I am short, stocky and quick.  Because of my size I can hit a pocket without them seeing me coming. I'm the man you can rely on when the pressure is high. 

I am looking for a challenging team and coach that can not only teach me great on the field experience but life experience. I am dedicated 100% to be the best that I can be.  Through any adversity I try to smile. A few years ago, we told to run 4 miles at the end of practice.We were exhausted and hot from the Las Vegas sun. I tried to carry a smile as though it didn't hurt as much as it did. . From this experience, my nickname "Smiley" was born.  Never let them see you sweat!
