Hi my name is Cedrick McLaughlin class of 2024
I am a receiver/returner/running-back for my high school varsity team and was also part of Team New-Brunswick in 2021 and 2022.
I have been a Multi-sport athlete my whole life. I started playing hockey at the age of 5 and also started playing Soccer a few years after where i was competing at the provincial level and was part of the Team New Brunswick training program. I was hit with failure early on in my hockey career as I got cut multiple times from competitive teams but I never gave up and finally was able to play competitive hockey and always managed to be in the top 2 players of my teams after that. Early on in my development i learned to use those failures as motivation to work harder and decided to join track and field where i manage to win the Atlantic Championship in javelin at the age of 11 with a throw under 36m. Then. Covid showed up and i was sidelined for 2 years so my dad built me a Gym in our home garage and i decided right then and there to come back stronger than everybody else and join varsity football where my soccer, hockey and track and field skills fitted in perfectly and helped me shine early on even as sophomore football player on the varsity team. As a junior we managed to win the provincial championship for the 3rd time in over 30 years of the high school football program. On track and field side of thing I won the 60m dash at the Atlantic Championship in Feb 2023 and i am currently in the running to qualify for the Canadian legion track and field games.
I believe in hard work and constantly pushing myself to get better 1% at time. I have been lucky to have supportive parents and coaches who have accompany me along this journey and are continuously helping me become the best version of myself.
