Matthew Garofalo '11 Recruiting Profile

I am 6'4" 285 lb. starting Varsity Left Tackle for Hunterdon Central Regional High School (HCRHS) in New Jersey. In my sophmore year, 2008, I was the starting Right Guard for the varsity squad, who the previous year were NJ State Group IV Champions. I played every down of every game. In 2009 I was moved to the starting Left Tackle position. My major athletic accomplishments to date include being nominated and then invited to participate in the 2010 US Army National Combine in San Antonio, Texas where I competed against the top football athletes from across the nation. In my junior year I was named to the "Mid-State 39 All Conference Team", "All Area Team", and "3rd Team Offense All West Jersey". I currently have a 3.71 GPA while taking Honor courses in Chemistry, Spanish and Trigonometry. I have been able to balance peak athletic performance while maintaining my current course load through dedication, committment and a strong desire to excel in both football and academics. My goal is to play for a College or University that has a strong athletic committment and enviornment as well as a strong academic history. This type of College or University would give me the tools necessary to succeed in life. My athletic goal is to be an impact starting player for my team while also being a strong leader, one who leads by example in both my athletic and personal life. I will constantly strive to become a better athelete through my dedication and desire to succeed. I feel I am a very coachable individual who has a strong desire to learn and increase my athletic ability. I care a great deal about my teammates and will assist them in achieving their own athletic goals by being the best teammate they could ever ask for.
