Erik Slater '17 Recruiting Profile

    Hello, my name is Erik Slater and I am a 6' 2'', 220 lb. linebacker and tight end/running back from Old Tappan, N.J. Since I was a young boy I have had a love and passion for the game of football. I have the mental toughness, intelligence, and physical ability to play football at a high level. I have played 3 sports (Football, Basketball, Baseball) my entire athletic career and continue to excel in each one. Although I have committed to football, I continue to play each because of my competitive nature and love of athletics. Playing three sports has taught me a great deal about teamwork, leadership, and hard work.

    The past year taught me a great deal about myself and the game of football. I was a member of the New Jersey North 1 Group 4 State Championship team. I started both ways and was selected 2nd Team All-County and 1st Team All-League as a Junior linebacker. I bonded with my teammates and truly learned what it takes to excel as an individual player and more importantly as a team.

    If given the opportunity to be accepted into a respected university, I will play my hardest on the field and study my hardest in the classroom. I will be a valuable asset to the football team and university as a whole due to my determination on and off the field. Since I was a young boy it has been my dream to play college football. I am confident that all of my hard work will pay off and make that dream come true.
