Hello, my name is Tucker Bogacki. I’m a high school football player and honor roll student with a 3.7 GPA. I grew up hearing stories about my dad’s college football experiences so when I started playing youth football it seemed like it was a lot of fun. Over the next several years though, I knew I wasn’t always the best, needing to work harder at developing certain skills. But I always enjoyed the team aspect of the practices and games, the impact the coaches had on me, the excitement of winning and even the drama of losing. At some point in time, my perspective about football started to change. Watching games on Sundays, following players, watching the draft were all things I did with my family. It had become a part of who I was. I started to realize if I worked harder I would see results that helped me be better on the field. Similar to how I approached school; I put in the study effort and I got good grades. Building my confidence by working hard in the off-season, going to the gym and working with a trainer to get stronger, taking my practices seriously helped me start both on offense and defense as a junior and lead my team through the first round of the play-offs. Looking forward to my senior year, I believe I’ve found a solid balance between taking school seriously and doing well but also working hard at something I love. The opportunity to play football in college has been a goal that I’ve been working hard to achieve.
