Matthew Drake '22 Recruiting Profile

From a young age I learned to work hard in everything I do.  I have played competitive football and basketball since I was 5 years old and from then on I have always worked to be the very best I could be.  In my freshman year playing JV Football, at about mid-season, I was called up to the Varsity Football Team.  I led the JV team in rushing yards, touchdowns, and interceptions, and was selected to be the Speaking Captain, and I was a leader on and off the field.  My Varsity Coach saw all of those qualities in me and knew I would be up to the task of taking on a role on the Varsity team.  I am an impact player with a high football IQ. Since my sophomore year I have played a key role for our team both offensively and defensively. I am relentless in my training and preparation.  I am most proud to be recognized as one of the leaders of our team that has kept us all focused and working hard no matter what we are faced with.  Heading into this year, my Senior season of high school football, I am honored to be named Team Captain.

I am never complacent.  I always work to be better, faster, and stronger than I was the day before.   My ultimate goal is to find a college where I can pursue my academics and also continue my football career at the collegiate level.
