As a multiple sport athlete in football, track and weightlifting, I’ve taken pride considering myself as a team player, a leader and a determined individual. I’ve always seen these sports and my teammates as a well oiled machine and a tight family. Track and field showed me the importance of a healthy competitive spirit, both in practice and during a meet. Weightlifting is my lifeblood, as I’ve been training and lifting since I was 10, it has always showed me the importance of having a champion attitude, putting all my effort and dedication into improving technique and lifting the maximum possible weight with proper form. Football is my passion, I have been playing ever since I can remember, 5 years old. I have learned many life lessons through this sport, learned brotherhood, learned determination and perseverance.
In my first year of varsity football at 14 years old, in 2021 as a sophomore I was a part time captain and a season long starter, leading from the bottom. I fit right into a veteran line as an offensive and defensive tackle, almost as if I had always been there, being highly regarded by teammates and some coaches. My latest season at 15 in 2022 I was a captain and was moved around the offensive line from center, to tackle and finally to guard. Where during my first game as guard I was awarded with offensive MVP of the game. My senior season at 16 years old I anchored our O and D line, captain year long and being awarded MVP as center our homecoming game in a tough loss against our rivals, as well as being selected as a senior all star and 1st team all league. Being able to help teach other teammates and see them succeed is one of my favorite things in sports. I love helping my brothers get better, leading is what I love most about sports. In weightlifting through hard work I have achieved personal records in bench press, squat and deadlift.
Academically speaking I am held to high standards by my teachers, being in Honors English 11 and taking physics. One of my favorite passions beside athletics is my unquenchable thirst for learning, I believe you cannot be a successful athlete without the ability to adapt and learn new ideas. Balancing school and sports is a big thing for me, as school has always come first when I have to choose one or the other. I believe with my current course through school I will be capable of succeeding in balancing college classes and a college sport.
