Playing football since first grade has given me a lot of knowledge and love for the sport. Although I’m younger than my classmates, I have always been bigger and taller. This gives me an advantage on the field because even though I’m young, I still have the body as a lineman which helps me take on opponents. My father received many Defensive MVP Player of the Game awards in high school, and he instilled a drive in me to shut down the opposing team. I have quick reaction time and coordinative footwork. I make it a goal to get off the ball fast enough to meet my opponent before they meet me on offense, and on defense I strive to beat offensive linemen to their position. Although our team moved up a class and had a terrible record this year, I know I still had growth as a player. All season I worked on keeping a positive attitude and being upbeat for my team.
Until this point, I have been an average student in school and recently set a new goal to reach honor roll each quarter. Academics are important to me. I know there is a college that is a good fit for me, one with an awesome football program that will satisfy me athletically, but equally important to finish strong with a degree and a great learning experience. I know I have the team player qualities and discipline colleges are looking for. I will continue to prove it in my last three years of high school.
