Personal Statement

Why do I want to play college football? I am a hard worker, love learning about the game, a teammate that builds others up, I play with purpose.  On my film it shows 100 percent hustle on every play, that how I practice and it shows on game film not just my high lights.
People  say I am too serious about it, but to me I am just focused and having fun, you don’t have to smile to have fun.

My REASON for being a hard worker, my dad has always instilled that hard work is the only way to become successful.  My dad is a trainer and coach, he has coached multiple high school sports, helped other players get to college, and has been a speed/agility/strength coach for as long as I can remember. He also trained my brother who played college basketball.

My dad introduced me to Football it has become my passion, I want to play at the highest level possible. I have put in countless hours of work on the field and off the field. My dad influences me to expand my other talents like drawing, writing, singing, etc. He is afraid I will be obsessive over football, if I don’t practice other talents.

My PASSION, football is my favorite sport, I love working out and lifting weights, my dad wouldn’t let me lift until I was in 8th grade, I haven’t stopped since, and I will soon be starting a YouTube channel for lifting. Currently  I started and after school weight lifting club, most kids that attend don’t have dads, but some of them do. I enjoy teaching the guys how to lift properly and I like watching my dad work with them, when he has the time to help. I like that the younger kids look up to me so I can influence them to stay away from drugs and other negative influences, I also to teach them about taking care of their bodies and how hard work leads to success, and how my faith encourages my performance in the weight room and on the field.

My AWAKENING

My 7th grade year I tried out for the Team Carolina FBU team. I made the team and got invited to play in the Carolina Bowl. I did great! The following year, I was invited to the be on FBU, also play in the Carolina Bowl and the Shrine Bowl, but I made a C in 2 classes. My dad wouldn’t let me play in either because he demands all A’s. He is always training or coaching so he wasn’t ever on me about my grades. I didn’t focus on my grades like I should have. Not only did I get punished for my grades, no weight room for 2 months, He made me call my coaches for the FBU team, Carolina Bowl, and Shrine Bowl, and explain why I couldn’t play, It hurt and I was embarrassed. All the coaches tried talking him into letting me play, talking about hurting my future in football, but he wouldn’t change his mind. He told me you can hate me right now, but there is no NFL without college, and their is no college football without High school football, no high school football without A’s. So if you have to learn this lesson it will be now.  I didn’t understand in 8th Grade but now that I am junior, I get it, and my grades have been pretty good since. (He did allow me to play FBU because a player got hurt and we had previously committed, the team really needed me and he had trained a couple of the kids, I felt like it was more for them than me, but I balled out regardless).

My PURPOSE
Mom tells me God will decide what level I play at, but my dad says GOD gave me the talent to be athletic, It’s my job to develop the talent he gave me, and then I will make it to college football. I know I’ll make it because my dad does all he can help other get their and he loves me a lot. He won’t let me down, and I won’t let him down, because I play to Glorify GOD and the talent he gave me just like my brother and dad. I heard my dad tell my mom he’s really hard on me because I am better than my brother and dad at my age. And he is hard on me for every mistake. But he also builds me up when I do good, which is more than when I mess up.

WHO AM I,

I work hard, lift hard, and play hard because I represent more people than just my family.
I am made up of two tribes of Native Americans, and I like representing them when I play. My dads family is from North Carolina and my mom’s is from Oklahoma, so I got a lot of people watching me when I play, supporting me in football, and excited to see me represent us.

Why is football IMPORTANT to me

Some people think natives are only history, they don’t even know we still exist.
But when my name is echoed across the stadium “Climbingbear on the tackle” I touch my heart and point to GOD so everyone knows who’s number 1 to me and my unique name let’s the fans know natives are still here!

(And I love hitting people, stopping people, and just love playing, it’s intense, exciting, and fun)!
I use to think I played this game to make my family proud, well my dad a lot. But my junior season I played because I wanted to see how much harder I could work, how much more I could do on the field. I wanted to play for me, still representing GOD but without worrying about my dad yelling at me or building me up, I just wanted to play for me, and this season was my best season so far!!

Coach if you made it this far GOD bless you and if you feel it in your heart to look at my film and believe I am a fit for your program, please contact me.
