Dear Coach,
My name is Ben Babcock and I would like the opportunity to play football at the collegiate level. I'm a senior (2017) at Bishop McGuinness HS (Kernersville, NC near Greensboro). I finished 2016 season as the Max Preps 22nd ranked nationally leading receiver in reception yards with 1,647 yards on 98 catches and 18 receiving td’s. Though I am a three-sport athlete, football is my passion and I believe I can help your team win!
At the conclusion of this season, The Winston-Salem Journal voted me on the “All Northwest” team, the Greensboro News and Record placed me on their “All Area” team, I received All Northwest 1A All-Conference honors for the second year in a row and I was named The Triad Sports Weekly’s “Offensive Player of the Year” as well. I was most proud to be named a “team captain” this year and was also named the team MVP this past season as well as the school’s male athlete of the year this past year.
I believe that I have the “x” factors that will make me a good player for your program. I have great hands, can catch the ball in traffic, have a great first quick step, am quick and can take a hit. I believe playing multiple sports has improved my football IQ but I also think I can become a lot better by dedicating myself to just football.
Academically, my grade point average is nearly a 4.0 at a rigorous Catholic preporatory school. I take Honors and AP level courses and have finished in the 94th percentile on both the ACT (30 superscore) and SAT (1320). I am a hard worker and will give 100% at practice and in games as well as the classroom. I don’t know how to play any other way. I want to make a positive impact on the team with my hard work ethic and passion for the game.
Attached, I am including my video highlights from my Senior seasons. I believe you will agree that I will be an asset to the team. I can be reached via cell phone at (336) 745-9770 or email [email protected] and ask that you please let me know if you have any questions. I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Ben Babcock(1144 Constantine Ct., Kernersville NC 27284)
