Personal Statement
What makes my situation so unique is that my stepfather has been a huge influence, support, and mentor in my athletic life. My stepdad, Bruce, played quarterback for NC State and Ohio University on full scholarship, his experiences and mentorship have shaped who I am today.
Making it to the postseason every football season throughout my high school career has shown me a lot of what it takes to be a part of an extremely successful program. Constant dedication to the program, loving and respecting your teammates and being very coachable are instrumental to building a successful program. I believe I excel in all of these areas. My desire to compete and win have always been a strength. I’ve learned to rebound and put the losses and mistakes behind me. I’ve been playing football for as long as I can remember. Football has shown me how to work hard, be committed, stay focused, be perseverant, take constructive criticism and how to be a leader. I always practice like I play and don’t take reps off. I always try to get the best out of everyone including myself. I have very high expectations for myself and I’m my biggest critic.
I expect to finish high school with a 3.85 GPA or higher. I’m looking for a school that will challenge me both academically and athletically. I would like to major in business yet the options are vast. I look forward to exploring all aspects of the business field in hopes that will help me narrow down my options. I want to compete at the next level not only because of talent but also because of my work ethic, character, a positive attitude and my passion for the game.
