Personal Statement
The beginning of my high school football career wasn’t as fulfilling record wise. Ending my freshman year 5-5 and 6-4 my sophomore. There was obviously something that was missing from the program that was holding the team back from playing to our full capability. It was a leader within the team. Going into my junior year I presented myself as the leader that was going to turn the team around. Being a primarily defensive player, I promoted the idea of having a stingy and relentless defense. Being the quarterback of the defense I was able to talk them through different looks, create energy, and lead by example by giving 100% every play. By the end of my senior regular season we were in the top ten in points given up per game in Ohio at 5.4 points allowed per game.
None of this however would’ve been possible without the encouragement and support from my family and community. My family has been supporting me ever since I started flag football in the 2nd grade. Every game I go out onto the field and give it everything I have to make my community and family proud, as well as myself.
I want to find a school that fits my needs academically and athletically. I am willing to face challenges that take me out of my comfort zone knowing that it will make me a better student and person.
