Personal Statement
I am Aaron O'Brien Alphee and have been playing football since 9th grade. Growing up as a kid I wasn't around my dad much. I had to learn a lot of things on my own including football. I was always inside playing video games and beating them easily or on the computer. Coming into 8th grade I had friends that played football and wanted me to play too. I doubted myself and thought I wouldn't be able to such a rough sport. Started to watch more NFL games and began to enjoy the sport more. Following year I participated on my first football team. Although my somewhat bad asthma, I tried not to let that stop me from quitting. Now I am the starting defensive end for Muhlenberg High School in Reading, Pennsylvania. I am 6'3" and in season around 225lbs. Known for my speed and being able to rush the passer well. My coaches and teammates see me as a leader of the team and for me to help better my teammates. Always willing to do more to get stronger, faster, and bigger. Along with my football skills, I am a quite exceptional student in school. I maintain a 4.1 GPA out of a 4.0 scale and ranked 41 out 257 in my graduating class. Also participate in the club Varsity Athletes Against Substance Abuse (VAASA) I have received high honors numerous times and recently been offered to join National Honors Society. Along with rewards I have received Honorable mention and All- Academic for football. I know that being able to play football at the next level is not just given, it is earned. I want to be able to make my family and friends proud by receiving an opportunity to do so. I want to find the best college for me not only to play but to continue excelling in academics.
