Stephen Doar '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6' punter and place kicker from Landrum, SC and will graduate in the 2011 class. The varsity coaches noticed my punting ability in my freshman season with the junior varsity team and brought me up to the varsity level halfway through my freshman season. I have started on the Landrum High School varsity team for 3 years. I improved my punting average by 10 yards between my sophomore and junior seasons. My junior season avg. was a 39.4. I was named to the SCHSL (South Carolina High School League) Class A All-State team and also the HSSR (High School Sports Report) Class A All-State team. I was also named to the All-Area Academic Team by the Spartanburg Herald Journal. In my senior year I took on the place kicking duties as well. I hit 41 of 44 PATs on the year and 1 of 1 Field Goals. I also have started 3 years for our Varsity soccer team. I have a 4.508 GPA as of the end of my junior year and I have a 26 ACT score. I am in the top 8% of my class and have taken all honors classes available to me. I am looking for a 4-year school with a strong balance between academics and athletics. I would like to study in the engineering or graphic design field.
