Anthony Garrett '21 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to make it to college and do something with my life to make myself and my family proud. I know that nothing in life comes easy and I am willing to do hardwork to make it to and in college. I know that if I make it in college that I will be the first in both my immediate and entire family to attend college and receive a college degree. I am just a young man with big dreams trying to make it out a small town. In my town there are alot of dreamers who are not willing to work for what they want, but I am different, I love the grind, the hardwork, and I am willing to work for any everything that I earned and/or receive. I do not just want to attend college for myself, but to give my little cousins hope, to hope for the best, and workhard and let nothing define you or get in your way of your dream. I truly believe that I will be able to show my little cousins that they do not have to take the wrong path or be in the streets to make it or have all the flash and dash to be great, all they have to do is have faith, believe, and work hard. I have three quotes that I read to myself and these three quotes give me strength to believe and go out and work for my earnings. My first quote is Philippines 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Another quote is The 23rd Psalm which states "The Lord is my shephard I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in the green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the path of righteouness for his name sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I shall fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the prescence of my enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." My last scripture is Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I truly do believe in each of these Bible quotes/ scriptures and I know with God's help, my family's support, and my hard work I can make it to college and become the first in my family to make it that far and also set a gate way and a path for my little cousins and the genrations to come. This will truly be a dcream come true that I have work hard for and earn. Another thing is my grades are good I am an all A and all A/B student, I have a 4.1 GPA, I am involved in FCA, and I have perfect attendance for the whole year. I have great character on and off the field, I am willing to work hard, learn new techniques, very coachable, and have great leadership skills. I have the most heart on my team, I never give up, and I am always up for a challenge in the classrooom, weightroom, and on the football field.  Overall I am a God fearing man and one dedicated hard worker.
