I’ve played many sports throughout my life, but out of all the sports I’ve never enjoyed one more than football.
Ever since I watched my first NFL game when I was young, I knew this was the sport I wanted to play for the rest of my life. From then on, I’ve made it my life’s mission to make that dream a reality. I’ve pushed myself every day on the field and in the weight room in order to become a better athlete. In the weight room, I push myself each week in order to become stronger. Thanks to the hard work in the weight room, I have great strength. In fact, I bench, squat, and deadlift more than anyone in my class on my team. In addition to the strength I have built in the weight room, I can deliver speed thanks to training outside of practice and running track. My stamina is also good because of running track and wrestling. I displayed that by being able to play through the entirety of nearly every game in the 2023 season. Off the field, I watch game film in order to see what I did and correct myself on any mistakes I made. Because of all this work on the field and in the weight room, I was able to lead my team in tackles my freshman year.
I know being a student-athlete is also academically demanding. That’s why I strive to perform well academically. Inside the classroom, I work hard to complete assignments and homework given to me on time. That’s why I was able to sustain a 4.0 GPA with a 97 plus average in each class. I’m also well-behaved in the classroom as I show great respect to my teachers. One of my great attributes in the classroom is that I have great self-discipline. So much so that I won a character trait award for self-discipline in my school.
I also know that being a student-athlete means more than just doing great in class and in sports. It also means that you have to be involved in your community and have great respect for those in your community. That’s why I make sure I have great manners while in public because I know I’m representing not only who I am as a person but also my school and team. To better give back to my community I am working with the Fire Explorers to gain the necessary skills to become a volunteer firefighter because I am passionate about contributing to my community. Beyond my physical skills, I also have a talent for singing and enjoy giving back by participating in my church youth band.
