Personal Statement

My goals are to be recruited to play football at a college / university while earning a degree in Physical Therapy. In football, I started on my high school's varsity football team as a Sophomore at the wide receiver position and I'm continuing to maintain a 3.1 GPA. My high school, Maryville High School (MHS), is the defending 6A state champs. We just completed another undefeated regular season and are moving into the play offs.

Character - I have been lucky to receive leadership from older teammates and learned the value in sharing their wisdom, along with what I've learned, to my other teammates. I believe you lead by example, and our coaches have been the best examples any player could have. Although individually we have goals, we play together as team. I look forward to extending my football career into the collegiate level.

Athletics - This summer I received the top receiver award in the upper division at the Bruce Fowler QB/Receiver camp at Furman University. This year as a Junior, I have become the team's top receiver leading the team in the number of receptions (19 catches, 50% resulting in TD's) with a total of 561 yards, averaging 30 yds / catch. I was named Player of the Week by our local newspaper, The Daily Times in October 2014. Along with football, I also play guard / wing on the varsity basketball team and compete in the boys 400 meter dash and 4x4 relay on the track team. Last year in track, I was close to reaching the school record in the boys 400 meter dash and hope to break that record this season. I have played AAU travel basketball each summer, but plan to spend this summer attending various football camps. My year round athletic schedule along with additional SAQ work, keeps me in top shape and helps me improve.

Academics - I have been successful in balancing extracarricular activities while taking honors classes and maintaining a 3.133 GPA. I have signed up to take my first ACT test this December and will follow that up with additional tests to obtain the highest score I can.
