Matthew Covert '25 Recruiting Profile

I am Matthew Covert, a junior at Maryville High School in Maryville, TN.  I am set to graduate in the class of 2025.  I play Linebacker, and what makes me stand out as a potential recruit for your program is my agility and strength, ability to read offenses, react quickly to make each play count, and work ethic as I am a goal-oriented self-starter.  

I am honored and blessed to play for the Maryville High School football program, the 13th winningest program in the country, winning 18 state championships in program history.  Training under a winning program has given me numerous benefits, including the opportunity to learn from skilled teammates and coaches and develop strong teamwork and leadership skills.  My proven performance and determination on and off the field (2023 All Region 6A 1st Team and 3.6 GPA) sets me apart as a player, a teammate, and a leader.  My consistent commitment for continual improvement for the betterment of my team makes me an invaluable asset to your organization.  Playing football at the next level while and working towards a degree is very important to me.  I want to gain as much knowledge and skills necessary to pursue my football and career goals as I move to the next chapter of my life.
