Personal Statement

Thank you for taking the time to read this information. I know your time is a highly valued commodity, so I'll get straight to the point.

  • I am 6'5', 295 Pounds

  • Dead-lift with 600 pounds,
  • Squat is 535 pounds

My most important accomplishments in Football are:

- Rams Defensive Lineman of the Year (TX, 5A)

- First Team All State, Sophomore Year;

- All-Conference Honorable Mention.

Varsity Letterman winner since freshmen year

What I personally try to bring to the field is heart, and a willingness to do what I can for my team. I try to set an example to my teammates, on and off the field, to follow the rules as well as playing with passion and good sportsmanship, because when you knock someone down with all you have for your team, you should pick them back up. Even though we play for different teams, we're all brothers, in a way. Consequently, I always go out and play with a fiery passion, always play with 200 percent effort, and I NEVER QUIT. It has been my dream since I first stepped on the field to continue on to the next level, so I will be the best I can be to meet that goal. If it were easy, everyone would do it!

I personally, would like to play on the highest level that I can, but I am open to all sizes and types of schools.
When I go to college I would like to major in Criminal Justice. I hope to become a U. S. Federal Marshall or be a Navy SEAL. (My Father was a Naval Aviator and currently trains USAF Pilots; my brother flies F-16's for the USAF; my other brother works for an intelligence agency which should not be named.

Here are some of my goals:

  • Play college Division 1 football;
  • Continue to represent my school with integrity, and honesty;
  • Graduate High School & College with honors;
  • Always set the example on, and off, the field.

I will always do my best at whatever I do, and that is a promise.

Thank you for your time and consideration; I hope to hear from you soon.

Respectfully,

Benjamin J. Hartman

Academic Accomplishments

Are you in honor classes?
Yes. MEMBER: National Honor Society MEMBER: National Society of High School Scholars NOTE: I was in honors classes my Freshman and Sophomore years, but under the advice and guidance of my school counselors and parents, I changed my plan, due to the extensive involvement with school activities and training.
Are you in AP/IB classes?
Yes. I have been enrolled in numerous AP classes my Freshman & Sophomore years. My Junior year, we moved to Del Rio, Texas; home of Laughlin Air Force Base, as my Father trains pilots for the Air Force and is based there. I then became a starter on their Texas 5A team, where I remain. Due tot he aggressively time-consuming nature of football training here, my counselors advised against AP classes even though I qualified.My parents concurred and therefore, for my Junior and Senior Year, I am not in AP classes.
