Personal Statement
First my education always comes first. What will make me a good candidate for a team? My whole high school career, i never had a upperclassman to look up to, or to show me how to be a leader. I believe setting the example is an asset to not just developing myself as a leader but also for the athletes who are passionate for the sport. The lessons of respect, hard work and dedication has been taught at home, by my parents, which I apply on a daily with education and as a passionate football player. I believe that i can be a great leader on and off the field. I had to learn by myself as a 14 year old kid what it takes to be a leader, what it takes to make a solid team not just a group of kids playing football, but a group of kids working together. Team cohesion is the key which starts with a solid leader to help guide the entire team. The difference between me and other athletes? Through the years, I have come to understand the meaning of work ethics. I remain consistent and focused on keeping my grades up and i do not let up on my studies. I love to work hard in the weight room, field, gym, and especially in the classroom. I love to say, "Do not miss a rep or a set, every rep and set that you miss, that is every play that is going to hurt us as a brotherhood."
