I come from a hard-working family of veterans and educators. I was raised to value family and hard work. It was instilled in me and my siblings at an early age that you have to work hard for what you want in life. This is why I love the mat so much, nothing is given, only earned. Through BJJ and wrestling, I’ve gained so much. The mental and physical toughness it has shown me only adds to what was already instilled in me by my family. I plan to continue to work hard to better my academics and wrestling both, to earn a State Title, and earn a college scholarship through my hard work.
I know I have what it takes to help a team be successful at the college level, both in the classroom and on the mat. I’m from Killeen, TX, probably one of the most diverse cities in the country. I have grown and learned alongside numerous beautiful cultures and religions that have taught me the beauty and strength in diversity. This knowledge of openness and acceptance helps me to connect with people from all over and becoming a good teammate. Being a great teammate starts with communication and teamwork. The team dynamic is essentially like a family, which is what I am all about.
