My name is Nick McBride and I am a student athlete approaching my senior year at The Woodlands High School in Texas. Throughout my childhood, I played several sports, including soccer, basketball and taekwondo, but my passion is football. Over the last five years I have played several positions on both offensive and defensive line, but my primary positions are nose-tackle and defensive end. Throughout my career, my coaches have told me that I am quick to pick up their instruction and that they have been impressed with my work ethic, ability to learn, drive to succeed, intensity on-the-field, whether in a game or at practice and my willingness to help my team and teammates. I enjoy good relationships with my coaches and teammates and am considered one of the leaders on the team. In the off-season, I am a letterman member of the school’s power lifting team.
Outside of school and sports, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, staying active and volunteering in my community, whether at a food-drive for those less fortunate than I or in cleanup efforts after a major catastrophic event, like Hurricane Harvey.
As mentioned above I am, first-and-foremost, a student and take my education very seriously. I currently have a 3.3 grade point average and my goal is to graduate with a GPA of at least 3.5 and go to college to study mechanical or electrical engineering. I hope to find a school that will be a good fit for me, both academically and athletically and which will give me an opportunity to contribute as much to it as I hope that it will to me.
