Personal Statement
I have always had a desire to participate in competitive sports and have always played to win. I was a four (4) sport athlete for many years, including football, basketball, baseball and hockey. As a result, I am highly experienced in competitive sports, skilled as a result of consistent practice and activities, and I am a coachable athlete. My primary goal is to be a NCAA division I athlete in Football. I am also open to any opportunities for division I basketball.
My commitment is shown by my personal decision to leave Juneau, Alaska to attend O'Dea High School in Seattle, WA. I wanted an academic and athletic challenge that would be more difficult to achieve in a small town in Alaska. I almost immediately made an impact at O'Dea in both football and basketball. I also worked with trainers in the Seattle area whenever possible outside of high school or AAU activities.
I have had to overcome some challenges. I had to have knee surgery following my freshman year at O'Dea to repair a meniscus tear. I rehabbed and came back strong for my sophomore year. Even though I only made half of my sophomore year of football, I still made 2nd team all Metro League for Safety. I made 1st Team All Metro League in 2022, my Junior Year. was also selected as Outstanding Safety for O'Dea High School Varsity football team. I am currently a Varsity captain, and starting safety and quarterback for 2023. Our team is undefeated and recently honored as Metro League Champions.
I have performed well academically and earned a Merit Scholarship that assists with my tuition at O'Dea. I have qualified for many honors classes, and my current weighted cumulative GPA is 3.8. I have a solid work ethic and academic path to follow because of the example set by parents, sisters, and others.
I have been recognized by coaches and teachers as a solid student athlete and well-rounded individual. As someone who works hard, is driven, dedicated, athletic, skilled, intelligent, funny, coachable, personable, leads by example, and demonstrates kindness. I am someone who gives my all for the success of my teams. I am excited to show a college program what I can do.
