Personal Statement
When I stepped onto the football field in fifth grade, I discovered the love of my life. Every day since then, I have worked to be the best player and teammate I can be to achieve my goal of playing college football. I know there are great student athletes who share the same goal and only a very few who are able to achieve it. I am grateful for the opportunity to show why I would be an asset to your team.
I was honored to be selected as a captain on my high school's freshman team and loved playing on both offense and defensive lines, along with some special teams assignments. The game skills and leadership lessons I learned my freshman year made me thirsty for more challenges.
I have learned to push my body and my mind to achieve my goals. I love to work hard in the weight room as well as on the field. My determination drove me all the way to my goal of being a varsity starter, playing on the offensive line my sophomore year. Our Teams success this year, winning the Wisconsin Division 3 State Championship, is a memory I will cherish forever.
In addition to pushing myself to be the best asset for my team as a sophomore, I took time to help coach our Junior Crusaders seventh grade football team. Offering the younger athletes guidance and positive reinforcement brought me great pride. It also made me a better teammate and stronger player by allowing me to view the game from another perspective.
I lead by example on the field , in the weight room, and in the classroom. I work very hard to maintain a high GPA while taking challenging classes. I keep a positive attitude and seek feedback from coaches, teachers and teammates to continue to reach my highest potential.
My goal is to play at the college level at a school that pushes me not only athletically, but also academically, so I will have the tools for success after my football career. I believe that goals are achieved with hard work, determination, and a positive attitude.
