Hello, Coach!
I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Clancy Gines. I am a junior in high school, graduating in 2019. I am currently 210 pounds, 6’3” and my 40 yard dash time is 4.89 seconds. I bench 205 currently and squat 285. I live in a small town in Wyoming and truly love the outdoors! There is no better place to experience nature, and from my home, I can be in the Windriver Mountain Range in less than an hour. An excellent get-away, regardless of the season!
Off the field, I am a very dedicated student and push myself to achieve good grades and academic excellence! I currently have a cumulative GPA of 3.55 (out of 4.0). I am going to pursue business in college, but I am also interested in other fields in Science/Biology with an emphasis on Wildlife. I believe that in order to be a successful athlete, one must first be a good student, showing commitment in the classroom!
My freshman and sophomore year I started on our varsity team, playing on both sides of the ball. I was an all-conference player my freshman and sophomore year as well as earning all-state awards my sophomore year.
On the field, as a junior, I am a returning varsity starter. On offense, I play fullback and on defense middle linebacker. I love the game of football and work with integrity and drive in every practice and game to be the best I can be! I believe a team is a FAMILY, and together we are stronger than any individual, alone. I am a very strong leader who leads by example – I worked to obtain this role on our team from my first day as a freshman and is nothing I take lightly! I have formed inseparable bonds, been held accountable and been looked up to in this pivotal role. I believe with all my heart in hard work, extra hours (film, field, weight room, etc..), and GRIT. Truthfully, these are the qualities that will prove to set me apart from other football players, and would make me an asset to any team!!
I would like to attend college in the west, mid-west and possibly the southern region of the U.S. I would love the opportunity to play Division I or II football, but would absolutely also consider high academic Division III opportunities. As I mentioned, I love the outdoors and wide open spaces, so feel that I will be most interested in smaller cities/towns (not urban). The most critical to me is a best-fit college, and city size is not something that will deter me from my goals. Regardless of where I would have the opportunity to play, my goals are to be an asset to any team I play on, work hard and play football at the highest level possible.
