I’ve always wanted to attend college after high school. Furthering my education is important to me as I am planning to be the second in my family to earn a college degree. I’ve played basketball throughout my elementary and middle school years and now I continue playing basketball in high school. Last year I was a freshman starter on the high school C team. I enjoy being a student athlete as I am someone who likes the drive of pushing myself academically and physically when I play basketball. I also appreciate the feeling of my teammates bettering my skills as I would do for them on the court.
I was born in Juneau, Alaska, a town with a population of 35,000. The only way into Juneau is by plane or boat. My town is small, it is home. I am of Filipino descent and love to eat! When I’m not playing basketball, I enjoy hanging out with my friends and eating McDonald’s with my grandma. I am looking for a program that challenges me academically and physically and has that “hometown feeling” in the classroom, on the court, and with my potential teammates. Although I come from a small town, I feel I can offer my work ethic and discipline for the game, and importantly, I’m looking forward to becoming a better student athlete.
