Caden Hanebuth '22 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals and aspirations include furthering my education while also being a part of a team. Growing up in a rural community in Alaska hasn't always allowed me many opportunities which is exactly why I would like to take this one. I hope to show my dedication for education while also continuing my basketball career because I value being a team mate.  I would be a good candidate for their team because I've played basketball since I can remember - this experience would allow me to share my skills and knowledge with those from other places while also staying open minded to their tips and tricks that I do not know about. I am passionate about the game of basketball and know how to stay calm during stressful situations. For example, during the 3A state championship game I felt so many different emotions and it was a close score throughout the whole game but I kept my mindset positive and uplifted my team even when we were losing. This mindset and influence I had on my team won us the game despite everyone's guesses for the outcome. I think being from a rural community makes me different from other recruits because I don't have the kinds of resources everyone else has.
