Personal Statement
I have a great dreams and goals for the future. One of them is to play collegiate basketball on scholarship to help pay for or support my academic goals, as academics is one of the most important aspects of my life. That is the reason that, even as I work hard to develop my skills at basketball, I also work hard off the court in the school setting and have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA.
I have played multiple sports including weightlifting (for which I participated on the USA Weightlifting team for two years and placed third in the nation), football, lacrosse, track, and basketball. I enjoy being active and I am constantly working to develop my skill set. Despite the great potential I have to succeed in football, have left it behind in order to further develop my proficiency in basketball. Although I know this is a risk, basketball is the sport that I am most passionate about. This is because I believe in following my instincts and dreams.
My coaches have given me consistent feedback that I am teachable, humble, and hardworking. They often comment on my character and the example I set for my fellow teammates. I have been blessed with supportive and influential parents, siblings, coaches, teachers, teammates, and trainers who have helped me through all of my setbacks and have taught me how to persevere. In addition, building my relationship with with God has been vital in the development of my character and influences the ways in which I lead my personal life and my life on the court. I am thankful and grateful for all those that believe in me and support me.
