The day I arrived in the U.S. in 2018, basketball wasn't just a game for me—it became a refuge where life makes sense again, away from the challenges faced by any immigrant to a new land. I remember stepping onto the court and feeling like I found where I belong. My team and I spoke a common language without ever meeting before. My dream? To be among the best. I've worked hard to sharpen my skills—my dribbling feels natural, my Basketball game IQ is sharp, and my defense is solid. I'm the guy who lifts the team's spirit, leading by example, and pushing us all to excel.
I'm all about pushing limits, and sharing the successes and the challenges as a team both on the court and in the classroom. I strive to keep my grades up, knowing that my dream college is out there, waiting for a student-athlete who thrives on challenge and competition.
Joining a college team for me means bringing my A-game always—more hustle, more heart, and more hard work, but also inspiring my family and friends, and dreams become goals when we attach a timeline and milestones to them. Off the court, I'm just as committed, aiming to ace my classes, and committed to excellence. I'm ready for the next step, excited to find a college, a coach and a team amongst which I can grow, compete, and succeed. My name is Abdessamad, and I'm just getting started.
