Shawn Murray '23 Recruiting Profile

Growing up I always knew that I wanted to play basketball at the highest level possible. I didn't care where it was or when, I just loved to play. As I've grown and matured, I've learned to appreciate what's required of me to succeed on the basketball court but also off the court and in the classroom.  I have been taught one simple rule, "No Grades? No Ball!" Now I have a 3.5 GPA with many academic awards to go along with a work-ethic that has brought me to where I am now on the basketball court.  Going to a college that will allow me to play basketball, push me to get better everyday, and to expand my horizons academically while challenging me to be the best I can be in all that I do would be an honor and a privilege.  

My collegiate goals and aspirations? Play the game I love at an exceptional level and to continue to push myself everyday to be better while leading others to a place they didn't even think they could reach themselves, help a program develop into a strong, respectable, and winning culture, and graduate from that school with a degree. Ultimately, to get an opportunity to also play professionally at the next level.  Being told that I have so much potential as a player over the years and also being extremely coachable on the court would make me a great candidate for any team or program. Being an MVP of my team, a Captain, and receiving "Coach's" award are all accomplishments on the court that shows my character as a player but more importantly, as a person as well as achieving a 3.5 GPA with Principal's Gold Level Honor Roll proves that academically I can keep up with a stringent academic life as well as focusing on my craft to be a great basketball player.

I believe I can be a great fit for any program. All I need is a chance!
