2019 Highlights Personal Statement
I enjoy all kinds of sports, especially volleyball and basketball, but basketball is my love and my passion. My basketball journey started when I was eight years old, when my best friend’s dad told me I should play basketball for his CYBA team. I have always been very competitive, and my goal has always been to be the best of the best. This mentality has led to multiple all-tournament awards and MVP’s at regional tournaments. The pinnacle of my career has been receiving West Coast Player of the Year Award and leading my team to place sixth in the National Homeschool Championships. I was honored to be chosen to play on varsity as a Freshman. I believe my strengths on the basketball court are attacking the basket and locking down on the defensive end. Besides being six-time captain of my team, I also learned a lot about leadership and teamwork during my journey to becoming an Eagle Scout and leading three clubs at my school.
I also strive to do well academically and have not only been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA but also get a head start on my general education at local community college receiving dual credit and work part-time job at In-n-Out. This summer I also interned at a chiropractor/physical therapy office as both of those professions interest me.
All these experiences have greatly influenced who I am today, but my main drive in life is to bring honor and glory to God as an individual and player. I am willing to put the work into becoming the best version of myself, both on and off the court.
