Personal Statement
Being a three-sport athlete from the age of six until now has been an adventure with undefeated and completely defeated seasons. My sophomore year of high school, we lost 7 seniors and I had to step up and become what the team needed, which was captain and leader. My sophomore year we only won 3 games, and this was very humbling and taught me to be patient, hopefully, and involved in the development of players that I am playing with. I learned that a winning team plays as a team, not just individual work. To create this teamwork, I learned the value of sacrifice for me and for them.
Playing high school basketball at a academically challenging school requires hard work academically and physically. Going through this school with a 4.0 playing varsity in 3 sports shows my ability to balance my needs and capabilities as a student, person, and athlete. This ability is something that I can bring to impact your program, the school, and the people.
