I started playing the game of basketball my 4th grade year. I realized early on I had a desire to play at the collegiate level. I am a team leader and believe you have to lead by example whether that is on the court or off the court. Basketball is a team sport in that comes with its highs and lows. In order to succeed you have to be able lift up and encourage your teammates both on the court, from the bench and off the court. I often have been praised for being one of those coachable players and strive to be the hardest working players for any team I am a part of. I was brought up on the importance of the fundamentals of basketball and the development of your basketball IQ. I excel on the defensive end of the game, but also contribute on the offensive side by having the awareness of where my teammates are, finding and feeding them the ball or I can attack the basket as the game dictates.
Off the court I study hard to maintain a high GPA. I’m a member of Fellow Christian Athlete Club and National Honor Society at my high school. I also volunteer time with my local church. I do what I can to give back in this area as I have been blessed to have gone through the Lutheran Church and School programs.
My goal is to attend a college where I can continue to push myself both academically and on the basketball court. I’m on a mission to find that one special college that will fit both my academic desires and basketball desires. Through many years of hard work and dedication I have been able to keep myself grounded and focused. I look forward to all the opportunities that lie ahead. Both my parents have played a huge role in the person I have become thus far. They have shown me what working hard and showing kindness to others can bring.
