Personal Statement
I was born deaf which has created a lot of obstacles in my life but not on the court that is my element. I enjoy every aspect of the game and have been in training since I was 5 years old. At 5 years old, I started playing AAU ball in Evanston. I have played consistently every year since then on an AAU team. I have traveled to many different tournaments in many states and I know that there are always new challenges and teams. I love the competition and the ability to learn from each new experience. I know life is not easy and I have to work harder then everyone else because of my hearing. However, that has not deterred me, instead it has made me more competitive. I know how to be aggressive and determined through out all four quarters and I pride myself on being a team player. Based upon my need to be there for my team, I also make sure I can play any role on the court, so I am ready whenever my team needs me. With all that being said, I know that in life you need balance and I know that I have to work just as hard in school in order to continue to play on the court. Therefore, I am determined and know that I will be a college athlete.
